Preschool

CLC Jewish preschool (CLC JNS), a well-known and well-established 33 year-old program is the best beginning school experience Montgomery County has to offer. We keep our class sizes and teacher to child ratio low, and our curriculum on the cutting edge of modern educational philosophy that includes many resources for its nursery such as music, P.E., a library and science.   Our unprecedented commitment to flexibility means many program options for CLC families. CLC Jewish preschool (CLC JNS) students may attend school 3, 4, or 5 days a week until age 4 and diaper changing services are available at any age.

A typical day in our warm and nurturing classroom environment includes circle time to encourage group activity, art projects, a wholesome mid-morning snack, and plenty of free time to play and explore (where we believe the REAL learning happens!).  At CLC we’re lucky enough to enjoy spacious 1,000 sq. foot classrooms. Because CLC is housed in a former public elementary school building we’re able to offer multiple classrooms to allow children of different ages and developmental abilities to remain separate.

Our fully-stocked classrooms are brimming with educational materials, toys and hands-on centers. Following our philosophy that children learn through play, in each classroom there are: Permanent art centers, building block corners, circle time centers, cozy-comfort corners, Judaic centers, mini library corners, math centers, music centers, science centers, housekeeping centers and truck corners.

For our nursery school children (ages 3-4) at 1:00pm, we offer after school activities in Cooking, Basketball, Dance, and Soccer. Famous for our flexibility, our activities program is constantly growing to accommodate the needs of our parents and children.  There is truly an option for every child here at The Children’s Learning Center.
